AIA#92 My Morning Routine

As I get older I have to do more maintenance.

Sometimes I play around with the order but mostly it goes something like this…

Get up at 7:30AM

I’m trying to get up a little earlier but usually I don’t sleep past 7:30.

Yoga and breathing exercises 40 min

I’m looking to increase this to an hour or possibly longer in the future.  But everyday I do yoga and breathing exercises.  The yoga I do isn’t crazy just basic moves, then I mix in some breathing exercise, something like the Wim Hof Method.  I’ve been doing this for about two months and its been amazing.  I used to do yoga every now and then and it was difficult to get myself to do it everyday, but I’ve developed a good habit after a few weeks.  I also do breathing exercises while walking during th day or when ever I get the chance.

Cold shower 5-10 minutes

I do a hot and cold shower of and on for about 5-10 minutes.   It feels amazing after I get out.  I can’t recommend this enough.  The cold water stimulates the lymph system of the body,  and the Swedish people have been doing this for years.

Take my vitamins.  Usually B-12 and Selenium, right now.

Eat Breakfast with Green tea.  I’m trying to cut back on the coffee to see if I sleep better.  I feel like I’ve earned my breakfast after doing yoga for 40 minutes.

Write in my Journal.  I have broken my journal down to Goals, daily writing, quotes and questions to write down, area for I’m grateful for, free writing and blog writing ideas.  I’ve only been doing it for a month or so and I dig it.  My favourite part is the quotes area.  I only spend about 20 minutes or so on it.

Write a blog post.  I try to force myself to write a blog post everyday.  Anything is fine especially right now, because I’m just starting out with writing and don’t really know what heck I’m doing.  So I’m trying to a little everyday.

If I have the day off I might go on a walk or run afterwards but usually this is it.

Is it helping?  Well, I feel a lot better that’s for sure.  Way more relaxed when I do my routine and fell like I’ve done something.  For sure I will let you know.
